Man Gives Police A Fake Name And Gets Arrested

A man in New Zealand was pulled over by the police and he gave them a fake name — it turned out that the name he used was the name of a wanted man. Police arrested the 23-year-old and he spent the weekend in jail for a crime he did not commit!

This goes to show you that if you are going to use a fake name, you better make sure that person is a good citizen. This man wasn’t, as he was wanted for breaching bail conditions. Because he was supposedly breaching bail, police immediately took the man to jail and no fingerprints were done.

The man did appear in court under the false name, but Ngawha Prison officials recognized him and knew he wasn’t the man he claimed to be. He remains in jail and faces facing charges of driving while disqualified, giving false details and perverting the course of justice.
