Man Dies In Jail After Being Refused His Medication

Driving recklessly is not an offense one can scoff at, but is it something worth losing your life over? David Stojcevski suffered a cruel and unusual death in jail after being sentenced 30 days at the Macomb County Jail for failing to appear in court to meet his reckless driving charges. He spent 16 out of the 30 days in absolute agony and eventually died as a result of the pain after personnel in the jail failed to provide the necessary medication. The family members of the deceased have decided to sue the responsible authorities for negligence in the case.

According to David’s family members, he needed regular doses of three prescriptions, namely Xanax, Klonopin and Oxycodone. These pills were meant to help treat anxiety and drug withdrawal while providing pain relief, and unfortunately David was denied access to any of the necessary pills.

The most shocking part of the case was the absolute negligence on behalf of the authorities in Macomb County Jail who completely ignored David’s plight, even though they could see him suffer throughout the entire duration through the prison’s cameras. The footage from the cameras shows that the situation got so bad at one point that David was naked in his cell and was suffering from intense hallucinations and simultaneous breakdowns.

Robert Ihrie, the lawyer representing the interests of David and his family members, said that the incident “shocks the conscience” and that this particular case was extremely sad as the death could have been completely avoided.
