Lil’ Mama Releases Official Video For New Single “Sausage”

Uncategorized

Lil’ Mama certainly knows what it takes to make headlines when she releases her various music videos. She burst onto the scene in 2007 with her video for “Lip Gloss.” After that, she made a few appearances in other artists’ videos but has laid low and been mostly forgotten since then. Now, the self-proclaimed “voice of the people” has come roaring back with a video that took Twitter by storm on Friday afternoon.

While her music is certainly something that gets people dancing and hopping, it’s the lyrics that have made this particular song and video stand out. The song samples from Slick Rick’s 1988 super hit “Mona Lisa,” and has Lil’ Mama rapping about people having safe sex while comparing that safe sex with breakfast foods. One particular line includes “Eggs, bacon, grits, sausage. You better use a condom if you’re taking that sausage.” If you find that hard to believe, watch the video yourself and marvel at the lyrical twists and turns.
