Iranian General Accuses Israel Of Stealing Iran’s Clouds And Snow

Iranian general Gholam Reza Jalali, who is head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization, said during a press conference on Monday that Israel is stealing Iran’s clouds and snow.

The changing climate in Iran is suspect. Foreign interference is suspected to have played a role in climate change,” Jalali said, whilst insisting that an Iranian scientific study be conducted to confirm his claims.

Israel and another country in the region have joint teams which work to ensure clouds entering Iranian skies are unable to release rain,” Jalali said, adding “on top of that, we are facing the issue of cloud and snow theft,” citing a recent study that found all areas above 2,200 meters between the Mediterranean and Afghanistan are covered in snow apart from Iran.

Ahad Vazife, head of Iran’s meteorological service, responded to Jalali’s comments;

[General Jalali] probably has documents of which I am not aware, but on the basis of meteorological knowledge, it is not possible for a country to steal snow or clouds. Iran has suffered a prolonged drought, and this is a global trend that does not apply only to Iran. Raising such questions not only does not solve any of our problems, but will deter us from finding the right solutions.

This isn’t the first time a high-ranking official in Iran made allegations regarding the weather; as Iran’s former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed that Western countries were causing drought in Iran. “European countries used special equipment to force clouds to dump [water on their continents].

Today our country is moving towards drought, which is partly unintentional due to industry and partly intentional, as a result of the enemy destroying the clouds moving towards our country and this is a war that Iran is going to overcome,” Ahmadinejad said.
