Facebook Rolls Out Downvote Option To More Users

Earlier this year Facebook revealed that it would be trialing a downvote option on comments and posts on the social media platform. This downvote button is aimed to improve the quality of content on the platform, giving users another option other than reporting someone. Now, it appears that Facebook is rolling out this feature to even more users.

The new voting features allow the users to flag bad comments, so if a comment has “bad intentions or is disrespectful” the user should downvote the comment. One thing to note is that this isn’t a dislike feature, as liking a comment can still be done alongside upvoting/downvoting the comment, however many people will be using the downvote option to dislike someone’s comment.

This doesn’t seem like such a bad feature, however it appears that most of the users who have access to the upvote and downvote system are from Australia and New Zealand – we’ve reached out to Facebook to see if and when the rest of the world will see this feature, and will update the post if they respond.
