Danish Radio Host Kills Bunny On Air

A Danish Radio host is now in trouble after killing a bunny live on air. Asger Juhl struck the 9-week-old bunny three times on its head with a bike pump during a live broadcast on Radio24syv. Juhl claimed that that the act was done as a statement to people who consume meat from grocery stores. Not surprisingly, listeners were outraged and voiced their complaints to PETA.

Associate Director of Campaigns for PETA, Lindsey Rajt immediately took action as reported by Fox News[we] wrote to the Danish National Police Commissioner because we believe this DJ’s actions breach Denmark’s Animal Protection Act which states that animals should be protected as much as possible. If this DJ is in breach of the act he faces fines, imprisonment and a ban on keeping animals.

Listeners also took to the radio station’s Facebook page calling for Juhl to be fired. So far there has been no apology from the host or the station, but a lengthy post about the murderous act was posted on their Facebook page by an unknown source at Radio24syv, which, in part, reads “We knew that we would be accused of provocation. And yes, we indeed wanted to provoke the public and to stir a debate about the hypocrisy when it comes to perceptions of cruelty towards animals. But it is not an empty provocation; the presenters of the program ate the animal after killing it.
