Celebrities Rank High On Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women List


Forbes magazine released their 2015 edition of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women that lists female CEOs, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and overall very successful women. Seven Hollywood celebrities made the list as well, with chancellor Angela Merkel holding the first spot. Seven women who appeared on the inaugural list in 2014 are listed in the 2015 as well: Melinda Gates, Christine Lagarde, Hillary Clinton and Indra Nooyi. Also, of course, Queen Elizabeth II, and Ho Ching.

Fashion has its strong and successful women too, Miuccia Prada, Tory Burch and Diane von Furstenberg made the list as well. Forbes also lists seven of the most successful Hollywood starts as the new celebrity role models. At number 81 is Shakira, who in addition to being the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, also developed a web series and line of toys to support the Barefoot Foundation, a charity that provides global education systems and build schools in Colombia. Taylor Swift is ranking at 64 as her album 1989 was the top release of 2014. Sofia Vergara ranks at 57, Angelina Jolie at 54 and Ellen DeGeneres at 50. Beyonce is at number 21 thanks to earning more than $500 million as a solo artist. The highest ranking celebrity is Oprah, whose estimated net worth is $3 billion.
