Canadian Man Has Brilliant Idea, Flies Chair With Balloons

A local man from Calgary, Canada, decided it was a brilliant idea to tie around 100 helium balloons to a garden chair and sit himself upon said chair. He then proceeded to take off, flying over the city and causing a bit of mischief in the process.

Daniel Boria,26, told the local police officials that he had planned on parachuting into the Calgary Stampede, a local rodeo event taking place at the same time. Boria was attempting to promote his cleaning-products company, though this is definitely one of the more brazen attempts to market a business.

Boria ultimately “somersaulted out the chair” and parachuted to safety once the balloons tied to his chair went too high in the area. The garden chair, however, disappeared into the unknown, says police chief Kyle Grant. Boria was injured in the process of landing in a field outside of the city, but no one else was hurt, thankfully. He has been detained following medical attention, reports BBC.

Boria said:

I was sitting in a lawn chair looking down through the clouds at 747 airplanes and looking up to a cluster of helium balloons.

I rose to a certain altitude and the winds got pretty intense. I was somersaulting out the chair and it felt like minus 30. I watched below as the stampede and my dream drifted away.

Mr. Boria has since been released on bail.
