Batman Impersonator Who Visited Sick Kids In Hospital Killed in Car Accident

Maryland’s Lenny B. Robinson, 51, delighted in dressing like Batman and visiting sick children in local hospitals. In 2012, Robinson’s Batman impersonation went viral when a video surfaced online showing Baltimore County cops pulling him over in his full caped-crusader costume.

Tragically, Robinson was killed in a traffic accident last Sunday when his “Batmobile” broke down along Interstate 70 in Maryland. While working on his car, a Toyota Camry slammed into the vehicle, propelling it forward at Robinson. He died on the scene. “He was my brother, my business partner, my best friend,” said his brother, Scott. “He touched a lot of lives and made a lot of kids smile,” he added. “That’s all he wanted to do.

Robinson reportedly bought his batsuit for $5,000, and spent upwards of $25,000 a year on Batman memorabilia he signed and gave away to kids. “I’m just doing it for the kids,” Robinson said in 2012. “Batman is the only super hero that doesn’t have super powers,” he later wrote. “He’s naturally a super hero. Kids can relate to me a lot better.
