Anna Kendrick’s Shower Thoughts Offer Deep Insights

Uncategorized

Back in August 2014, Nick Offerman made the internet a better place by reading a slew of “shower thoughts” — profound, if random, statements that the average Joe would never think of outside the confines of a shower. Those thoughts have been collected on the appropriately-titled subreddit, but Offerman went the extra mile and gave them a voice. Now, actress Anna Kendrick — in association with Glamour Magazine — is looking to do the same for viewers’ pleasure, if not as a means for enlightenment.

It’s easy enough to think of the shower thoughts as a bunch of nonsense, but Kendrick — and the video at large — at least helps to sell it as comedy gold. Again and again, it looks as if she’s contemplating those shower thoughts, if not life itself, just as the viewer does. The music helps out plenty; it’s not every day that a person gets to hear a track best suited for some grave drama matched to someone asking if belts can be sad over not being chosen for an outfit.

Maybe videos like these will make people spend less time singing in the shower and more time contemplating the nature of man. That alone could help change the world — if not save it.
