Anakin Skywalker Arrested Following Police Car Chase

Anyone who grew up in the 90’s probably remembers Jake Lloyd, the child actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, which released to theaters in 1999. Unfortunately for him, Lloyd has been arrested following a car chase with police.

Lloyd was driving through Charleston, South Carolina, when the Sheriff’s deputies began to chase him. Deputies say Lloyd was driving recklessly, endangering the lives of everyone else on the road at the time.

The chase was said to have gone on for miles, and eventually went into another county. Jake lost control of his vehicle, which ended up careening off the road and sailing through a fence, into a wooded area where it became further damaged by multiple trees, reports TMZ. The 26-year-old was brought in for reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest, and driving without a license.

Lloyd remains in police custody at this time. It is unclear whether a bail amount has been announced or whether Lloyd will post it. At this time, though, he will stay in the local jail while everything is sorted out.
