Top Gear Hosts Refuse To Continue Without Jeremy Clarkson
James May and Richard Hammond have both turned down offers to continue as the presenters for Top Gear without their co-host Jeremy Clarkson, who was recently suspended following an off-screen incident. The pair said they did not want to do the series without Jeremy, despite having the opportunity to become the stars of the show while Clarkson was on his suspension.
Clarkson was removed as a presenter after allegedly punching producer Oisin Tymon during a fight over a dinner on the set of Top Gear. Both men were said to have offered evidence to the BBC’s inquiry into the fight. A spokesman from the network would not comment on the situation, however, he did say an investigation was ongoing.
The final episodes of Top Gear have been delayed, causing BBC to lose millions of viewers and end up with thousands of complaints from the community. Top Gear was said to have brought in around £300 million annually for the network. The loss is certainly going to be felt this year.
