Woman Fired From “Dream Job” For Hand Tattoo

In this day and age, most people assume that tattoos and/or piercings are no longer an issue when it comes to gaining employment. Most employers have open mindsets and realize that whether or not a person has tattoos, has zero affect on their work ethic. That isn’t the case with Dee Set, a shopping logistics company.

Claire Shepherd was offered a job with the company following a phone interview, and she was extremely excited about it. She received an email with some guidelines, and noticed that one of the guidelines was to ensure that there were no visible tattoos. Shepherd assumed that the guidelines were outdated and irrelevant, but since she had a fairly large hand tattoo, she wanted to make sure, so she called the company. Shockingly, she was told that she no longer had a job with the company.

She was offended, and posted about the incident on Facebook. After the post went viral, Dee Set offered Shepherd the job once again. Shepherd turned it down.
