3-Year-Old Girl Dies After Getting Stabbed At Her Own Birthday Party

Timmy Kinner, 30, from Los Angeles is facing first-degree murder, nine counts of aggravated battery and six counts of injury to a child after shocking events occurred on Saturday night at an apartment in Boise, Idaho.

Kinner was asked to leave an apartment building on Friday due to his behavior, and returned to the complex the following day and went on a rampage. Kinner targeted a girl’s third birthday party that was happening a few doors down from where he stayed, and went on a rampage with a knife; stabbing six children and three adults.

Police responded to a report at 8:46 p.m. Saturday that said there was a man with a knife at the complex. Upon arriving at the location, police found victims with stab wounds both in the complex’s car park and inside the complex. Four of those injured have life-threatening injuries, with the children’s ages between three and twelve. One person has died from being stabbed; the three-year-old girl whose party it was.

Police Chief Bill Bones, from Boise Police Department, said

“This incident is not a representation of our community but a single evil individual who attacked people without provocation that we are aware of at this time.“

Police believe the knife Kinner used was discarded in a nearby street or in one of the irrigation canals that run throughout Boise. Kinner was arrested a short distance away from the complex shortly after police arrived. Dozens of police cars were still at the complex on Sunday morning, and residents returning home were told to find alternative accommodation for Saturday night either in a motel or seeking shelter at a nearby church.

As Kinner appeared before 4th District Magistrate Judge Russell Comstock on Monday, news broke that the three-year-old girl whose party it was had died. The unnamed girl died in hospital on Monday, two days after Kinner went on his rampage.
