10 Shocking Diseases With Unknown Causes
There are many bizarre illnesses and numerous medical conditions that affect people on a daily basis, some of which end up perishing from the symptoms they experience. These odd diseases have no cause that doctors or researchers have managed to discover as of yet, which is sad considering the amount of people that are suffering at the present time. While many of these diseases are quite rare, they all have their own set of weird symptoms. Here are ten serious diseases with no cause.
Gulf War Syndrome
Gulf War Syndrome occurred within combat veterans who served during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. The disease has no known cause, but symptoms include immune system disorders and birth defects.
Twentieth-Century Disease is also sometimes called multiple chemical sensitivity. It has been described as a chronic condition that causes numerous problems. Sadly, after numerous tests, no known cause has come to light.
Stiff Person Syndrome
Stiff Person Syndrome is incredibly rare. The disease causes the person to experience multiple muscle spasms. The disease is characterized by fluctuating muscle rigidity within the limbs and a sensitivity to noise, touch, and distress.
Morgellons Disease occurs when the sufferer experiences crawling, biting, and stinging feelings inside of their skin. Doctors believe it stems from a delusion, but have found no link as of yet, sadly.
Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome
Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome occurs through numerous bouts of intense nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. The disease generally develops sometime during the person’s childhood, and generally ends when they hit adolescence. Some persist into adulthood, though.

Peruvian Meteorite Illness
Peruvian Meteorite Illness first occurred when the Carancas meteorite first fell on September 15, 2007. The people in the nearby village of Carancas, Peru, began experiencing the rare illness. Some think it came from noxious gases.
Sweating Sickness is mysterious and viral, and first began in England in 1485. The disease comes on quickly and dramatically, and death generally occurs within a matter of hours. Some people were immune, oddly enough.
Exploding Head Syndrome
Exploding Head Syndrome sounds intense, and that is because it is. The first sufferer experienced tremendous noises within their own minds, and this usually drove them to the point of being near insane. Lack of sleep is a common problem.
