Teacher Feeds a Puppy to a Snapping Turtle in Front of Students

Robert Crosland, a science teacher at Preston Junior High School in Idaho, United States, is in serious trouble after feeding a puppy to a snapping turtle in front of his class. The incident occurred on March 7th at an after-school animal feeding event. While the animals involved haven’t yet been disclosed, at least two of them seem to be a snapping turtle and a puppy.

Preston School District Superintendent Marc Gee said that he became aware of “a regrettable circumstance involving some of the biological specimens,” adding “the event occurred well after students had been dismissed and was not a part of any school-directed program.”

According to three former students who wished to remain anonymous, they recall Crosland feeding guinea pigs to snakes and snapping turtles during class demonstrations. “He is a cool teacher who really brought science to life,” one of the former students said. “I loved his class because he had turtles and snakes and other cool things.”
