Women Disguises Herself As A Nurse And Steals Baby From Hospital
Police have arrested a woman in China after she disguised herself as a nurse and stole a baby from a hospital. Zhao Juan managed to enter the hospital in Huaian, Jiangsu Province, while dressed up as a member of the nursing staff, sneak into a mother’s room while she was asleep and take the baby from the building.
She then returned home with the child and phoned an ambulance to say that she had given birth at home. However, the paramedics took her back to the hospital where she had originally stolen the baby. After carrying out routine tests, doctors realized that Zhao had not given birth at all and so became suspicious. Police soon arrested her when they were alerted to the fact that a baby was missing from the hospital, while CCTV footage clearly showed the suspect taking the child.
According to police, the woman had been pregnant but suffered a miscarriage in May. Not wanting to disappoint her relatives she had pretended that she was still pregnant and planned to use the stolen baby as a way to cover up the miscarriage.
