Woman Arrested After Riding A Horse While Drunk

A 51-year-old woman has been arrested in Logan, Queensland, Australia, after she rode a horse to a drive-thru liquor shop with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of four times the legal limit. Police were called to Logan Tavern at approximately 11.30 pm last night when a woman was refusing to leave the premises.

Upon arriving at the tavern, the police discovered that the woman supposedly rode a horse through the drive-thru section of the tavern, and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Police transported the woman to Logan Central Police Station, where she had a breath-test.  The test revealed that the woman had a BAC of 0.226 percent – more than four times higher than the legal limit of 0.05 percent.

Officers also walked the horse back to the police station whilst the woman was being processed, and was then taken back to its home by council workers. The 51-year-old woman has been charged with being in control of a horse whilst under the influence of alcohol, and will appear in court on June 26th.

The arresting officers also released a statement, letting people know that drink driving doesn’t just mean a vehicle – a horse counts too.
