Wayne Static’s Cause of Death Comes To Light

Static X frontman Wayne Static died late last year. The musician – who was 48 – was found at his home in Landers, California on November 1st. However, the cause of death was unknown at the time of discovery. A recent report from the San Bernardino County Coroner Officer, said a fatal mixture of drugs and alcohol were to blame for his death.

Wayne Static, whose real name is Wayne Richard Wells, “mixed prescription drugs (Oxycodone, Hydromorphone. and Alphrazolam) and alcohol toxicity.” His death was listed as natural, though he had a long history of prescription drug abuse and alcohol abuse throughout his raucous life. His wife, Tera Wray Static, denied drugs were a part of his death at the time of his body’s discovery. She claimed that Wayne was simply a drinker, but did not partake in any recreational drug usage. However, Tera and Wayne were known to abuse both in their time.

A memorial concert was held for Static, with performances from Dave Navarro, Alice Cooper, and many more on January 20th.
