Un-Supersize Me: One Man Loses 60 lbs Eating McDonald’s Every Day

In 2004, the entire world was shocked when the documentary Supersize Me revealed just what a heavy fast food diet can do to the body. This prompted many people to steer clear of the drive-thru and focus more on the food their put into their mouths. Nearly 10 years later, a high school science teacher from Iowa is turning the tables on this game to prove that fast food can be an effective weight loss tool.

John Cisna began his weight loss journey at 280 lbs. For three months, he ate nothing by McDonald’s for all of his meals. This plan had originally started as a classroom experiment, until he started to see surprising results. By the end of those three months, Cisna was down to 243 lbs, a whopping 37 lb loss. He began to introduce other items into his diet that weren’t from McDonalds and managed to lose even more weight.

Since his results, John has published his own book entitled My McDonalds Diet, in which he chronicles the entire process for readers. In honor of his efforts, McDonalds has designated him as an ambassador to their brand to prove to the public once and for all that they are not the problem when it comes to obesity in America.
