Taylor Swift Buys Porn Site Domain
Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has reportedly bought two X-rated domains to protect her name and to ignore the threat of connecting her image with something a bit less family-friendly.
ICANN, the non-profit group responsible for coordinating the Domain Name System (DNS), is allowing both public figures, like Swift, to get ahead and buy out domains before the public will be able to starting June 1st. Yes, starting in June, 547 domain options will be open to the public including .sucks, .adult and .porn.
Stuart Lawley is responsible for the management of the .porn and .adult domains and says that Taylor Swift’s team has already bought TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult. Lawley adds that even brands such as Microsoft bought out the domains Office.porn and Office.adult to avoid trolls. It doesn’t seem as though Swift snatched up TaylorSwift.sucks, though. We think she should get right on that because .sucks domains could cost up to $2,500 to register.
