Police Chief Who Raped 7 Year-Old Has Been Found Dead A Week Before His Trial

A former Texas police chief who had been accused of raping a 7-year-old boy has been found dead just days before his trial was set to begin. Former West Columbia police chief Michael Palmer was found unresponsive in his own back yard around 3:45 PM on April 10th, according to Counter Current News. Palmer had a number of run-ins with the law, even before he was accused of raping a small child.

He lost his job as chief before the charges he was set to go to trial for next week were even brought. Once a respected leader on the police force, Palmer was accused of stealing painkiller pills that were part of an open investigation. Those accusations came from his own officers. After his dismissal from the force, investigators also found strong evidence, including pictures that he had bound and gagged the young boy and he faced eight counts of sexual assault.

The cause of Palmer’s death has not been determined.
