New ‘Terminator Genisys’ Trailer Features Oscar Winner JK Simmons

A brand new trailer for Terminator Genisys has hit the web. While most of the clips have already been seen a number of times, it was the repeated appearance of Oscar winner JK Simmons that made this new trailer newsworthy. Plenty of Terminator fans knew that Emilia Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger were starring in the rebooting of this series but until now, Simmons’ role was largely being downplayed.

It seems that Simmons’ winning an Oscar for his role in Whiplash has made Genisys producers rethink that strategy. The video doesn’t shed a great deal of light on just what the actor’s role is going to be in the upcoming science fiction film, but it does appear he will ally himself with Clarke’s character. The Game of Thrones actress is taking on and rebooting the role of Sarah Connor, a role that was originally played by Linda Hamilton.
