Mass Shooting In Toronto, At Least 10 Victims


Approximately two hours ago, a mass shooting occurred in Toronto, Canada. Police have released a statement saying that nine people have been shot, and the shooter has been killed. The condition of the victims is not currently known, however the events occurred at approximately 10 PM local time on Sunday July 22nd.

Witnesses have said that the shooter was dressing in black, “running around shooting at people aimlessly” before possibly turning the gun on himself. One witness believes at least one person – apart from the shooter – has died, and “two young girls were lying down on the street shot.”

According to reports there is no longer an active shooter, with the shooting occurring on Danforth Avenue, outside Christina’s Restaurant. Some witnesses heard as many as 25 gunshots, with one nearby resident – Nimo – uploading footage to Twitter where gunshots can be heard.

City News Toronto wrote on Twitter;

#UPDATE: Paramedics say the crime scene encompasses a large area and a number of victims have suffered significant injuries.

UPDATE

Toronto Police Sergeant Glenn Russell has stated that victims have been transported to trauma centers around Toronto. One young girl is said to be critically injured, whilst one woman has died.

Fourteen people have been injured in the shooting.

It has been confirmed that the shooter has died, with unconfirmed reports stating that the shooter shot at police before turning the gun on himself.

One 19-year-old witness said the shooter stood outside a restaurant and was shooting directly into it.
