Man Tries To Hide Gun From The Cops, Accidentally Shoots Himself In The Groin

New York City Police Department officers saw a 26-year-old man with his hands near his crotch on Saturday, and thought he was urinating in public. They stopped their unmarked patrol van and decided to approach the man. Unbeknownst to them, Javier Thomas was actually trying to re-adjust his loaded 9-millimeter Glock 19 pistol that he had in his waistband. The cops rushed him on the Brooklyn street, and in his panic, as he tried to pull the gun out of his pants to throw it away, the trigger went off and he shot himself in the groin.

The wound was painful, but Thomas was able to limp away and throw the gun under a van. A block away, the police caught up with him and made the arrest. Thomas was treated at the hospital for his wound, which wasn’t life-threatening. He was arraigned on a gun possession charge and a charge of reckless endangerment.
