Man Sentenced For Biting Off Wife’s Lover’s Ear

A Toledo man, who grew rather angry, bit off the ear of his wife’s lover. The man has now been sentenced within Lucas Count Common Pleas Court earlier this week. The individual, Virgil Bates III, has received four years of community control and is being forced by the court to pay $5,612.78 to the victim for restitution.

Speaking with the judge, Bates said he had come home earlier this year to check on whether his wife had told him the truth about ending the affair, which he knew about previously. Bates then, unfortunately, discovered his wife and another man in his bed. Bates put the man into a headlock, which forced the victim to chomp down on Bates’ arm. He then decided to bite the guy’s ear off; completely.
