London Teen Convicted For Terrorist Plot On Museum

Safaa Boular, 18, has just been convicted by a jury at The Central Criminal Court of England and Wales. Boular has become Britain’s youngest convicted female Islamic State terrorist, and was also found guilty over attempting to travel to Syria for terrorism.

Boular was accused of attempting to travel to Syria to join Islamic State militants after meeting her fiance online in the wake of the Paris 2015 attack. When Boular was 15, she met Islamic State fighter Naweed Hussain on Instagram and the two began talking. Three months later, Boular declared her love for Hussain  via an online marriage ceremony.

Boular wanted to join Hussain in Syria, however these plans were derailed after British security services became aware and confiscated her passport. On April 4th last year, a British security officer posing as a IS commander told Boular that Hussain had been killed in a drone attack. Boular proceeded to tell officers who were posing as extremists about her plans to attack a museum with a “gun and grenade.
