Lemony Snicket Author Pleges $1 MIllion Contribution To Planned Parenthood
While Planned Parenthood has gone through a series of rather unfortunate events that have led to it coming under fire from Congress, the organization does have at least one friend with high pockets. On the eve of congressional hearings involving the head of Planned Parenthood, the author of A Series of Unfortunate Events and his wife promised to donate $1 million to Planned Parenthood.
The author, who is known as Lemony Snicket to his fans, and his wife and illustrator Lisa Brown have been longtime supporters of the women’s-health organization. Snicket, otherwise known as Daniel Handler, believe the organization has been unfairly attacked in the last few months and they wanted to show that there are still people out there that supported it. The most interesting thing about the financial support is that recent polls show that Handler isn’t the only one who supports the organization. The attacks have led to more than one poll showing most Americans overhwhelmingly support Planned Parenthood.
