Kids Read Mean Tweets, Their Reactions Will Break Your Heart

Uncategorized

Jimmy Kimmel is known for his segment called “Mean Tweets“, where celebrities and famous athletes get the chance to read some of the harsh and cruel things that people write about them. In an attempt to show the effect of the words we post online, The Canadian Safe School Network decided to do the same thing, only with teenagers.

A non-profit charity organization, The Canadian Safe School Network, is geared towards reducing youth violence and making Canadian schools and communities safer. They approach issues like cyber bullying, LGBTQ acceptance and inclusion, and crime as a community responsibility and have adults and educators active in preventing further violence to make children feel safer in schools.

The video begins similar to those on Jimmy Kimmel, with laughter playing in the background to each tweet a teen reads. But as the tweets get more and more cruel, they begin to take them to heart.
