Indiana Teen Takes 93-Year-Old Great-Grandmother To Prom
Drew Holm didn’t have a date to his junior prom at Crothersville Junior-Senior High School in Indiana, so his great-grandmother, Katie Keith, joked about taking her as his date. That joke turned into reality and makes for such a sweet story.
What started out as a joke turned serious, as Keith said, “I was just kidding but he kept asking me and a couple days later he seriously asked me to go to prom.”
She didn’t say yes right away though, as she said, “You can find a cute little girl to take to the prom!” Holm didn’t give up and came back with the sweetest response ever, “No, I can’t do that. You’re the prettiest woman.” This isn’t the first prom for Keith, as she attended her own senior prom 75 years ago at the very same high school! The couple enjoyed their evening together and even got out there and danced a little bit. However, the night came to an early ending, as Keith gave herself a 9 p.m. curfew.
Holm took his great-grandma home, but he went back and enjoyed the after-prom festivities with his girlfriend, who he started dating after asking his great-grandmother to the prom. See, it pays off to be a nice guy!
