Humpback Whale Launches Into The Air Within Arms Reach Of Tourists
Just 20 minutes into a whale watching tour off the coast of Port Macquarie, 200 miles north of Sydney, tourists managed to capture amazing footage of a adolescent humpback whale breaching just meters away. The whale’s launch caused most of the people on board the Port Jet Cruise Adventures tour to be splashed with water, but it was well worth it.
After putting on an amazing show for the spectators, the whale swims away with its pod who had been swimming underneath the boat. One of the passengers, Anne Collins, described the experience as “fanbloodytastic.” Collins told local reporters “It came up way up in front of boat, crashed back down and the water still came up. It was the best thing.” Another passenger, Bernard Boyle, said “Everyone was ducking for cover when the splash came over. It was the experience of a lifetime.”
After the video was posted on Port Jet Cruise Adventures just three days ago, it has received more than 190,000 views. Port Macquarie News reported that the pod of whales splashed around for more than 20 minutes, putting on an unforgettable show for 50 onlookers.
