Homeless Soldier Has Been Urinated On, Spat On And Had His Sleeping Bags Set On Fire

Billy Gage, a former British soldier, is currently living on the streets of Manchester. That already sounds like it is bad enough, but the man – who served his country with honor – has been urinated on, spit on, and had his sleeping bag set on fire recently, reports Mirror. Obviously, Manchester isn’t treating a homeless veteran too kindly.

The 39-year-old ex-soldier, who spent 11 years in the country’s military, cannot believe how some people are treating him in his time of need. He said: “Sometimes I just go to a quiet street and cry to myself. I just can’t believe I’m in this situation. I have put my life on the line for the good of this country and this is the way I’m treated? It’s disgusting.”

Gage enlisted in the Armed Forces after he completely school at sixteen. He then spent 11 years as an All Arms Commando. Gage served multiple tours throughout Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Bosnia, and Sierra Leone. He left the army in 2004, after which he started his own plastering business. Unfortunately, things went down hill after his son, Daniel, lost his life at the tender age of six.
