Funnyman Tells 26 Jokes In One Minute, Sets New World Record

A comedian named Clive Greenaway has broken the Guinness world record for telling maximum number of jokes in one minute, according to The Telegraph. The 57-year-old man was able to blurt out 26 one-liners in a minute in front of a live audience. He spent one whole year practicing for the record. His hard work brought fruitful results for him and he was able to tell one joke every two seconds.

According to the Guinness World Records’ rules, the gag will only be counted if people laugh at each joke. For six months, the Guinness officials studied the video footage of the comedian’s act to make sure that the audience laughed at each joke and giggles were not fake.

Clive has been given an official certificate that declares him the record holder. The world record was previously held by German Markus Weise. Weise told 21 jokes in 60 seconds. Mr Greenaway is happy with his record.

“When I heard a German held the world record form telling the most jokes in one minute I couldn’t believe it and knew it had to be broken. There was a lot of training that went into it. After I wrote down 30 jokes it took me months to practice them and get them word perfect and build up my delivery speed” said the comedian.
