Former Marine Eats Own Feces After DUI Arrest

After being arrested for driving while intoxicated following a car crash on Merritt Parkway in Trumbull, Connecticut, a local man went into a rage. Police claim that 46-year-old Staff Sgt. Heber Meraz, a former marine, failed a roadside sobriety test and became increasingly agitated before he was put in the back of a police car. At this point, the man defecated and refused to clean up once he arrived at the station. Instead, he became confrontational with officers by shouting at them and eventually resorted to eating his own feces from his feet and legs.

He later refused to give any personal details to the police and would not co-operate when officers tried to take his fingerprints. Throughout the night he continued to yell at staff at the jail and even threatened the family of one particular member of the force before he smeared more excrement on the wall of his cell.

Meraz has since been held on bond and is due to appear in court of September 9th.
