Arizona Woman Gets 3.5 Years In Prison After Running Over Husband For Not Voting
An Arizona woman will spend 3 and a half years behind bars after running over her husband when he did not vote in the 2012 presidential election. Holly Nicole Solomon, 31 years old, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault back in April under a plea agreement with prosecutors.
The incident took place in a Phoenix suburb and goes back to the 2012 election. Holly thought her family would suffer more hardship if President Barack Obama was re-elected, but her husband, Daniel Solomon, did not vote in the presidential election.
This led to a disagreement in a parking lot, which escalated and Holly began chasing him around the parking lot while driving her Jeep. Daniel was trying to hide behind light poles, according to police, but he was eventually struck by the vehicle. He was pinned underneath the vehicle and suffered a fractured pelvis from the incident.
Solomon’s attorney Todd Nolan said, “This is just such a tragic case. Both families involved have been devastated.” He also added that the couple has divorced since the incident. Besides the prison time, Holly was also sentenced to four years of supervised probation.
