Acid Thrown In Man’s Face At Straight Outta Compton Screening

Police are currently investigating a horrible incident where a man had acid thrown in his face after a recent screening of the new rap biopic, Straight Outta Compton. The victim and another man, both from Redhill, Surrey, were watching the new movie about the rise and fall of the United States-based hip-hop group NWA at Cineworld, in the Crawley Leisure Park, West Sussex, when two men in the car park came after them.

The 27-year-old victim is currently hospitalized suffering from life-changing injuries in the horrific attack. The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, between 01:00 and 01:30. The attackers in question were driving a dark-colored Peugeot car and were said to be white and in their late 20s or early 30s. One had short, dark hair and a beard and had a bag across his shoulders. The other man wore white or light grey hooded jumper and jeans.

Detective Sergeant Laura Diamond, of Crawley CID, said: “This was an isolated but nevertheless nasty and unprovoked assault. We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen an altercation either within the cinema or later in the car park outside.”

The victim has been transferred to Queen Victoria Hospital for specialist care.
