12-Year-Old Receives $44,000 In Donations After Having Cops Called On His Lawn Mowing Business


12-year-old Reggie Fields from Ohio set up his own lawn mowing business to earn some money during the summer holidays, and shortly after starting things seemed to go a little sour. When Reggie was mowing the lawn of Lucille Holt-Colden, alongside his siblings and cousins, police showed up after receiving a complaint from Holt-Colden’s neighbor.

The neighbor called the police on the young children after the kids accidentally mowed a small portion of their lawn. Yes, you read that right – police were called on these children after accidentally mowing a small part of a lawn.

Following this incident, a GoFundMe page was started for the children; and after being created on Friday June 29th, it has raised more than $44,501. In the three days the GoFundMe page has been open, more than 1,500 people have donated; with the highest donation being $1,240.

A lot of people have left heartwarming messages on the GoFundMe page, encouraging Reggie, his siblings and his cousins to continue with their business. One user wrote “Best of luck, Reggie! Buy what you need to expand your business and put the rest in a college fund. You’re a smart young man with a very bright future!

“Great job boys! How marvelous that what was intended for evil has turned into a tremendous blessing! Don’t stop – hard work works and pays off every single time!”

Reggie has said he will be using some of the funds to buy new equipment, and has even set a business page up for himself. This page has also been flooded with comments saying that he is an inspiration and has a great future ahead of him.
