You Won’t Believe What Mystery The Police Can’t Solve In Ohio
The home of 85-year-old Albert Clemens Sr. has been pelted with eggs several times a week for a year now. Despite police investigations, which include testing the egg shells, questioning neighbors, and installing surveillance cameras, the perpetrator behind continuous egg pelting on the Euclid, Ohio, home remains unknown.
Clemens said the nighttime attacks sounded like gunshots whenever the eggs hit the aluminum siding of his home, leaving a paint-stripping residue. “I would live and die in this house — but it’s been kind of a nightmare” he said.
Clemens used to clean the resulting mess but gave up when the incident became more frequent. Repairing the house is also on hold since his insurance won’t settle the claim unless the suspect is caught. Ergo, the police investigation. Police have yet to identify either suspect or motive but they have suspicions and are determined to crack the case.
“Somebody is deeply, deeply angry at somebody in that household for some reason,” said Lt. Mitch Houser. Houser furthered “We’re not going to let it go. We’ll continue to put effort into it until we figure something out.”
Police have successfully traced the eggs back to a local Amish farm but since egg protein destroys DNA, fingerprinting the shattered eggs would be futile. They’ve put out a reward of $1,000 for information on the culprit, but this remains unclaimed and no tips were gathered from questioning the neighborhood.
