NYPD Ready to Arrest Harvey Weinstein

American film producer Harvey Weinstein, co-founder of Miramax which is behind films such as Pulp Fiction, will soon be arrested in relation to the sexual assault case NYPD have been building. In October 2017, Weinstein was dismissed from his company and expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after more than 80 women made allegations of sexual assault against him.

Yesterday, March 7th, NYPD’s chief of detectives Robert Boyce said that the police force’s investigation has gathered considerable evidence against Weinstein, and are now ready for an arrest – but requires to go-ahead from district attorney Cy Vance. According to sources within the NYPD, they are currently investigating five separate allegations of sexual assault.

Once such instance was Lucia Evans, a college student interested in pursuing acting, met Weinstein in the summer of 2004. Weinstein offered her mentorship, so Evans agreed to meet him at his office. Upon arriving, Weinstein asked Evans for oral sex, with Evans refusing. “I said, over and over, ‘I don’t want to do this, stop, don’t,” she said. “He’s a big guy. He overpowered me.” Weinstein has even admitted to groping another woman – Ambra Battilana – in 2015, stating “I won’t do it again.”

We’ll see in days to come if Weinstein is arrested .
