Netflix Orders A ‘Full House’ Spinoff

If you grew up as a child of the late 80’s then you might be excited to hear this. According to TV Line, Netflix is planning to revive Full House, and just last week, Bob Saget said on The View that “people are talking to each other” about a revival. “It’d be nice for the older kids that are women now to do it if they wanted to do it.” On Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, John Stamos finally confirmed that the new show is happening.

The 13-episode spinoff is tentatively titled “Fuller House” and will star Candace Cameron-Bure in her role as D.J. and Andrea Barber as her dim-witted and hilarious BFF, Kimmy Gibbler. D.J. and Kimmy would be almost 40 years old now, so Fuller House will chronicle their adulthood adventures and family lives of their own.

Full House aired for eight seasons on ABC from 1987-1995. It was canceled when it became too expensive to produce. The actors volunteered to take a pay cut, talk about love! Since then, they’ve reunited for commercials and late night TV and have repeatedly hinted they’d like to be one big happy Tanner family again.

Bob Saget, Dave Coulier and John Stamos will probably appear as guest stars on Fuller House. Currently there is no word on whether D.J.’s younger sisters, played by Jodie Sweetin and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, will join the show.

The show’s creator, Jeff Franklin, will act as showrunner of the revival and executive-produce along with Thomas Miller and Robert Boyett, who executive-produced the original series. Stamos is also on board as a producer. Details about the series are still scarce, but it’s definitely enough to get us excited for what we can only imagine will be a must-watch show.
