Missouri Senator Says ‘Game of Thrones’ Scene Has Driven Her Away
There are a number of different people who are pretty upset about a certain scene in the latest episode of Game of Thrones. In this scene, Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner is raped by her new husband, Ramsay Bolton. This is just the latest indignity suffered by Sansa and it appears its one too many for a few fans of the show.
Among those who have decided they cannot watch Game of Thrones anymore is Missouri senator Claire McCaskill. The United States Senator issued the proclamation that she would no longer be watching the show with a Tweet saying, “Ok, I’m done Game of Thrones. Water Garden, stupid. Gratuitous rape scene disgusting and unacceptable.It was a rocky ride that just ended.”
Since this particular comment started making its rounds on the web, more than one person has pointed out this is far from the first time a character has been raped. The show has had plenty of sexual violence. That makes us wonder if maybe she has been disliking the show for a while, for its rather slow plotting this season and this episode was just enough to push her over the edge. Whatever the reason, it appears that GoT has gone too far for Claire McCaskill.
