Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton File For Divorce

Country superstars Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton have announced their decision to file for divorce after four years of marriage. The duo announced the devastating news to The Associated Press early Monday. In the released joint statement, Lambert and Shelton said this isn’t how they planed their future to be.

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

The successful country singers first met in 2005 while taping CMT’s 100 Greatest Duets Concert. Blake Shelton was married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern, at the time he and Miranda met. The two eventually began dating in 2006 and tied the knot back in 2011. Rumors have circulated for years that there was trouble in paradise for Miranda Lambert and Black Shelton.

Neither Lambert nor Shelton has spoken about the recent divorce filing on their social media pages. The two were recently spotted performing together at a Fourth of July show together, so the divorce announcement comes as a surprise for many of their fans.
