Manhattan Fortuneteller Costs A Man $700,000

A 32-year-old New York citizen sought help from a fortuneteller while trying to fix a relationship with his girlfriend and is now claiming the fortuneteller scammed him out of more than $700,000. The psychic, named Priscilla Delmaro, and another person who was working with her are facing charges of grand larceny. The man claims he went to consult Delmaro in 2013. The psychic told him that there are evil spirits around him which were keeping him from being with a woman he loved and wanted to be with. The woman just didn’t share the same affections, The New York Times reported.

With the help of a private investigator, the man compiled a statement in which is stated that the psychic told him that he and the woman, Michelle, were “twin flames” being kept apart by negativity. Delmaro managed to convice the man the spirits were talking to her in order to get the man to make multiple payments on Delmaro’s account in the span of 20 months. The payments included $80,000 for an 80-mile bridge Delmaro claimed would trap evil spirits into another realm, a $30,000 Rolex she described would cleanse the sins of the man’s past and $40,064 for a Tiffany diamond ring to “protect his energy,” along $40,000 worth of other payments. Delmaro and 27-year-old Bobby Evans, who was identified as Delmaro’s helper, were arrested on May 26th and have denied the allegations, but remain jailed waiting for sentencing.
