JK Rowling Has The Perfect Response For A Fan Asking About Dumbledore’s Sexuality

JK Rowling does not tweet that often, but when she does, she makes it worth it. When recently asked by a fan about the sexuality of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore, the Harry Potter author had the perfect response.

Back in 2007, after the final book, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, was published, Rowling revealed that Dumbledore was gay. Now, eight years later, it still seems to be an issue with some of the Harry Potter fans out there. One fan, whose Twitter account has since been deleted, asked Rowling: “Thank you so much for writing Harry Potter. I wonder why you said that Dumbledore is a gay because I can’t see him in that way.”

We all know the author has a way with words, so she kept it simple, yet powerful with her response: “Maybe because gay people just look like…people?” It appears the fan was not trying to be mean, as she then responded: “Amazing answer… Yes you are absolutely right. Such an inspiration!!!”
