ISIS Terrorist Kills 3 People, Holding 50 Hostages in French Supermarket

Redouane Lakdim – who has claimed affiliation with terrorist organization ISIS – is believed to have killed three people and took hostages at a Super U shop in Trebes, in the south of France. It is believed that Lakdim carjacked someone in Carcassonne at around 10 a.m. on Friday, killing one of the passengers. He is then suspected of shooting at police officers six times while they were jogging, wounding one in the shoulder, before he drove to the supermarket.

Upon reaching the supermarket, Lakdim held around 50 customers hostage. Before police stormed Super U, two of the hostages were killed and 16 more were injured. The situation came to an end when Lakdim was shot dead by police.

Of the 16 customers injured, two of them suffered critical injuries, including a hero cop who switched places with one of the hostages. The officer, Arnaud Beltrame, suffered life-threatening throat injuries after being shot several times by Lakdim.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, describing Lakdim as a “soldier of the Islamic State who carried out the attack in response to the calls to attack Coalition countries.
