Five-Year-Old Daughter Of Prisoner Shown Rolling A Joint During Visit
It appears that a five-year-old girl was visiting her father at the San Felipe jail in Mendoza, but it looks like he may have put her to work during the visit. As seen in the photo above, it appears that the daughter is rolling a joint while sitting on her father’s lap.
The man was identified as Daniel Mercado, 20, and prison chiefs have launched an investigation after the photo appeared on Facebook. The photo was posted on a fake Facebook profile with the caption: “Happy Birthday, love of my life. Five years old and you’re so big you’ll even roll Daddy’s joints for him. I love you, you beautiful little rascal.”
He may love her, but he won’t be getting out anytime soon if the prison officials determine if it really was marijuana. Eduardo Orellana, local prison service chief, said, “We’ve launched an investigation. What’s not clear is whether the girl is really rolling a marijuana joint. The photo was taken on February 9 and we don’t have proof it was marijuana.”
The photo was taken down last night from Facebook, as Mercado’s mother went on a rant regarding the photo: “Anyone who has been inside prison as a visitor knows that the visiting areas are full of inmates’ relatives. However criminal the inmates are, they’re very respectful of the visits. Neither my son or any other prisoner would ever use drugs in such a situation.”
