Firefighters Mow Man’s Lawn After He Suffers A Heart Attack

A 65-year-old man from Spring Hill, Florida, suffered a heart attack while mowing his lawn last week. Ralph McCrory’s wife, Dorothy McCrory, said her husband was mowing in the summer heat when he began experiencing what he thought was a heart attack. The Hernando County Fire Rescue were immediately called and helped save McCrory. Not only did the firefighters save Ralph McCrory’s life, they even finished mowing his lawn for him.

While McCrory was rushed to the local hospital to possibly undergo heart surgery, some of the firefighters stayed behind and asked Dorothy McCrory if there was anything they could do to help out. According to the Hernando County Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Kevin Carroll, the firefighters were told that it usually takes Ralph about four days to mow his lawn due to his health condition. A neighbor helped capture the photos of the rescue team mowing the lawn.

“Our folks have stopped many times and helped people change a tire on an automobile that had a flat. This is not unusual for us, but we’re very appreciative to the gentleman who actually took the photographs, that he took the time and made the effort to actually recognize these folks.”

It took the firefighters about 30 minutes to mow the lawn, which had grown about two feet high. The firefighters were applauded for their good deed and going above and beyond for someone in dire need.
