Elton John Caught In Hashtag Feud With Dolce & Gabbana

Legendary singer Sir Elton John and fashion powerhouses Dolce & Gabbana are locked in a hashtag feud. The battle started after the two male designers, who were a couple for more than two decades, made a remark in Panorama magazine about IVF children, saying that children of chemistry are synthetic. Their comment irritated several people, including Sir Elton John, who took to Instagram to call out the designers, saying:

“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic.’ And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF-a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children…”

John ended his remark with #BoycottDolceGabbana, which has gained massive amounts of support on social media, being used more than 30,000 times. Gabbana took John’s comment to heart, and has since then created a similar hashtag to #BoycottEltonJohn and called him a fascist.

Support for both Elton John and Stefano Gabbana have surfaced, however Gabbana’s attempt to #BoycottEltonJohn have not been successful, with his hashtag being used only 1,500 times, most of those being from Italians.
