Burglar Takes Sunglasses, But Leaves $1 Million Powerball Ticket
You can chalk this one up to pure luck, as a Seattle couple had their car broken into and the burglar took a pair of sunglasses, but happened to overlook the Powerball ticket that was sitting underneath them — that Powerball ticket was a $1 million winner! The couple, who wished to remain anonymous, said they never got around to checking the ticket after they failed to win the $350 million jackpot back in February, “We didn’t even think about a second chance prize.”
The ticket sat in their car for the past three months, but it looks like the car robbery lead to them finally checking the ticket and finding out they won $1 million! The couple said, “Someone broke into our car a few weeks ago and stole a pair of sunglasses. The stolen sunglasses were actually sitting atop the winning ticket. What a close call!”
It was a close call, as they now have $1 million in their pocket and plan on taking a trip to Paris and Iceland later this year to celebrate.
