15 Forgotten Actresses From The 90’s

Celebrity

The 90’s saw plenty of attractive young women get thrust into the public eye. Some of them were coming into their teen years right in front of us, while others were blossoming into full blown woman hood. None of them have ever had more success than they did in the 90’s and a few of them haven’t really seen any success at all since those heydays. But you know what they say, history often repeats itself. There are a few actresses on this list that seem to be starting a career revival, we’ll just have to wait and see if they can come all the way back.

Heather Locklear

Heather Locklear was the “it” actress for a while thanks to starring in shows like Melrose Place and Spin City. She still makes guest starring appearances these days, but it’s been a while since she was a big ticket actress.

Leelee Sobieski

Leelee Sobieski hit it big young. Starring in movies like Deep Impact and Eyes Wide Shut, it stands to reason no one knew she would never have another blockbuster turn like those films. At least she hasn’t since the 1990’s.

Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson was a household name as agent Dana Scully on the X-Files. Since then, she’s managed to make a nice career for herself on shows like The Fall and now she’ll even be bringing back her most famous character as a short run of the X-Files is coming back to TV. Anderson is one of the only ones on this list where it could be argued she’s never really dropped off.

Keri Russell

Keri Russell shot into fame and fortune as she played the titular character on Felicity. After the show ended, plenty of people thought she could write her own ticket. Instead she toiled in obscurity for years until she landed the lead on The Americans. Now her career looks to be making a full fledged comeback

Tiffani Thiessen

Tiffani Thiessen was the “it” girl on television thanks to her turns on Saved by the Bell and Beverly Hills 90210. She faded a bit after those shows but has managed to make a career for herself again recently by being main characters on shows like White Collar.

Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty was one of the biggest actresses in television when she did starring turns on Beverly Hills 90210 and then Charmed. Her acting career has been anything but charmed since those roles.

Vanessa Marcil

Vanessa Marcil is another actress who seemed to have a long career ahead of her thanks to Beverly Hills 90210 and Las Vegas. And then she stopped getting starring roles. There’s nothing of any note currently on Marcil’s plate.

Brandy Norwood

Brandy Norwood looked like a can’t miss prospect as a recording artist and the star of Moesha. She hasn’t completed faded out of existence by any means and even has top billing on The Game, but she hasn’t been in the public eye she was back in the 90’s.

Calista Flockhart

The world seemed to be open to Calista Flockhart after the massive success of Ally McBeal. Instead, the actress has done very little of note since the show was canceled, though she did manage to marry Han Solo.

Terri Conn

Terri Conn made her name in acting as Ashley Dupree on Breaker High. She then moved onto As the World Turns but hasn’t done anything of note since 2013.

Jenna Von Oy

Jenna Von Oy played the best friend “Six” on Blossom but hasn’t had much of a career since the end of that show. She hasn’t had any acting work of note since 2004.

Mayim Bialik

Mayim Bialik took a starring role on Blossom but then faded into acting obscurity for years. She’s back now as Amy, Sheldon’s girlfriend on The Big Bang Theory but still isn’t the star she once was.

Selma Blair

Selma Blair got her big break as the rather naive nymph in Cruel Intentions. Since then she’s managed to get steady acting work, but it’s safe to say she never hit the levels she was expected to reach as a star.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar will forever be known best as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She’s had other roles, both big and small since then, but she has never, ever been a bigger star than when she was taking a starring turn in that Joss Whedon show.

Lark Voorhies

Lark Voorhies was a megastar when she was on Saved by the Bell. She’s also one of the saddest stories on this list, considering the stories about her going broke and apparently having some mental problems.

Renee O’Connor

Renee O’Connor was a star on Xena the Warrior Princess but never was able to parlay that show into anything that could be considered a very successful career. The actress still has bit parts on various shows and movies but most people don’t remember she exists these days.

Neve Campbell

Neve Campbell was a huge star thanks to Party of Five and the Scream movie series. Since those starring turns, the Canadian actress has mostly been a guest star, popping up and making people exclaim, “Hey! I remember her!”

Mackenzie Rosman

Mackenzie Rosman was the youngest sibling on 7th Heaven. She hasn’t really done much since that show went off the air, though she did pop back up wearing next to nothing in a recent Maxim Magazine photo shoot.

Heather Graham

Heather Graham burst onto the scene as Roller Girl in Boogie Nights and enjoyed a few years of super-stardom. Since then she’s largely been someone who popped up from time to time.

Bridget Fonda

Once upon a time Bridget Fonda was one of the hottest stars in Hollywood. She took starring turns in Single White Female, Jackie Brown and Lake Placid and then seemingly dropped off the face of the earth. She hasn’t done anything of note in years.
